天美传媒 has named Laura Hendley, J.D., as its new Vice Provost for Online Learning. With more than 17 years of administrative and strategic leadership experience in online education, Ms. Hendley brings her extensive knowledge in program development and assessment, instructional design, student recruitment, and marketing for online academic programs to 天美传媒 Online.

鈥淲e are thrilled to welcome Ms. Hendley to Stevenson,鈥 said Dr. Meredith Durmowicz, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA) and Provost. 鈥淗er passion for online education and her extensive experience position her well to build on Stevenson鈥檚 strong tradition of providing affordable career-focused academic programs and personalized support to our online students.鈥

Prior to joining Stevenson, Ms. Hendley held a number of leadership roles in online education. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director for the Office of Online Education at Wake Forest University. There, she led campus-level strategic planning for online programs, collaborated on marketing and new program opportunities, developed data-informed faculty development initiatives, and created course quality rubrics and evaluation processes for online courses.

Ms. Hendley鈥檚 other work in online education included roles at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Alabama, and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

As the Assistant Provost for Educational Innovation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ms. Hendley coordinated the development of online degree programs and managed the university鈥檚 relationship with third-party vendors. As Director of the University of Alabama Online, she developed professional learning opportunities for faculty teaching online and the supervision of the instructional design, marketing, program development, and technology teams. And, at Samford University, Ms. Hendley concurrently served as Executive Director of the Evening College and Director of the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program, and later as Director of Graduate and International Programs of Samford鈥檚 Cumberland School of Law.

I look forward to building on the strong foundation established by SUO, and I plan to work closely with members of the SUO team and the broader Stevenson community to develop our offerings, strengthen our brand, and expand our reach.鈥

Ms. Hendley earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Birmingham Southern College, her Master of Science in Education from Samford University, and her Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University.
